My top 10 Bad Book Habits

Ah sweet sweet guilty pleasure that comes with reading a book. I’m sure every bookworm have this problem. And of course I’m no different. But I notice a lot of them tend to be ashamed of this bad habits. I on the other hand think this is one way to define me. Does that even make sense? LOL

1.       I snap at people
Yes it’s true, I snap at people who interrupt me when I’m reading a book. Usually when I’m reading, I like to be left alone, so I usually lock myself in the room or sit away from people. It’s my way of telling people I’m in my zone don’t disturb me or I’ll bite.  So when you see me in that zone, it’s a big NO NO for you to nudge me, call my name or try to grab my book. If I’m in public place I put on my earphones and pretend to listen to song while I read my book.  I also hate it when my phone vibrates nonstop when I’m reading. I snap at it too.

2.       I have to finish a chapter
I have to finish a chapter before I put the book away and do something else. It’s very rare for me to stop halfway in the middle. If I really have to, for instance having to chase a train. I can, but the moment I find a seat I will finish the whole chapter before checking to see if I have all my belongings.
If I'm at home and reading at night, I’ll be like “um one more chapter” and an hour later “just one more chapter” and this keeps going on until its 3.30am and I am frantically trying to get to bed. And I wake up at 5am. Yes ….stupid I know!

3.       I MUST have my books back
When I borrow my books, I’m very particular to whom I give them to. If they share their book collection with me, I know for sure they have the same fear of not getting the books back in a good condition. That way I know my books are in good hands. If you borrow my books, you are borrowing my babies, please remember to give them back. I really take care of my books. It’s my OCD, I can’t help it. I get edgy if the books gone missing for more than 4 months. Same goes to books I borrow, I will ensure I return them back even if I don’t get to finish the other book.

4.       I have to reread some pages
I don’t know if you have this habit. I mean you read a whole chapter and when you get to next chapter, you’re like “Wait, what the?” your mind goes completely blank and you can’t understand what you are reading. I always do that, this happens a lot in public places because I’m constantly getting distracted over people talking and loud noises. I hate that, because I have to read it so many times.

5.       Flip ahead to check
Before you shoot me, yes I do that, but only to check if my favourite character’s name is still around in the latter chapters. When I spot it, I quickly go back to reading. It’s just sometimes I can’t help it. I don’t read ahead or read the last chapter or anything bad like that. I usually just search for the character’s name I adore. HAHAHA Bite me!!

6.       Buying random books (not really a bad habit)
When it comes to book shopping, I tend to buy books purely base on the synopsis. I don’t really have a specific title I look for, unless of course I spot my favourite author then yes I will get them. When I go to a bookstore or a book sale, I just pick random books with interesting synopsis. Very rarely look up books I want to buy or prepare a list. I just free pick. I believe there are many authors whose stories are great but are not very well published and it gets trampled by famous authors that keeps getting recognition over and over again. I swear I read so many unknown authors and I love it.
So why is it bad? Because sometimes 8 out of 10 books are really bad and that makes me horribly sad.

7.       Must finish
Yes, it’s a thing. I must finish my books. No matter how bad the writing is. It’s like some sort of unavoidable obligation to all the books I’ve bought. I’ve read some books that was so bad I wanted to throw the books across the room and scream. But I kept reading, as long as it takes. The moment I finish it, I lash out my frustration in goodreads.

8.       Must carry a book at all time!
This is something I always done. I carry a book or a reading material at all time. I even throw in a small book for my vacation, even if I know I won’t have time to read it. I always carry one, and I also carry a second book when I about to finish my first. So basically you can always find me with at least one book in my bag.

9.       Bookshop, Book sale or Book Thrifting
These places are a curse. I just have to walk in a bookshop if I happened to spot one. I feel agitated if I can’t make it to a booksale, especially if it sells books dirt cheap. I can’t help it. I’m so addicted, when I walk in the mall and happen to spot a bookshop, I will march right in there (I also drag anyone who is with me at that time). I may not get anything, but I just have to walk in. I don’t know why. Even if it’s a magazine shop I will still stride it. This tend to irritate my friends and family a lot.

10.   Must use bookmark!!
If you borrow my book and you do a dog ear on my pages. God help me before I do something to you. Use a bookmark, it’s a must! I don’t care if you don’t have one. You can use your ATM card or a pen or even your hair. Please use a bookmark. I hate when people place their opened book facing down! Like people!!! It damages the spine and it leaves an awful aftermath gap in your books. I hate THAT! Why why !!!

Clubbing @ Havana Bar & Grill

This is probably one of my very rarest post you will ever find in this blog. LOL
This is my first ever clubbing experience. I only ever had “clubbing” at home or at someone’s party. Never a real clubbing experience with shit loads of strangers, in a bar or club.

Around 11pm, eight of us left the Renaissance Hotel and headed for a night of clubbing. We took a cab from the hotel to Changkat, Bukit Bintang. The cab charged us RM8 (probably the best you can get for a short distance ride in KL). Right after we got off, the first thing that caught my eyes is amount of foreigners walking about. I thought for a moment that the taxi driver drove us to New York or something. When I say a lot I mean I hardly see locals around LOL.

We waited for the other four to turn up and then we headed straight for Havana, the place was packed with foreigners (from all around the world, I dare say) and a handful of locals. People were dining and enjoying each other’s company. You know it felt like the two floors is filled with different sets of people. The ground floor calm and dining. Upstairs is naughty and loud.

So of course we headed upstairs, the narrow staircase was rather hard to see in the dimmed area and please be mindful of where you are walking because there are people walking up and down, some even hangout at the narrow stairs (like seriously).

I mean don’t go stepping on to some poor dude’s hands with your killer heels.

I admit I was kinda disappointed (at least a tiny bit), I had this impression that the club would look something like from The Mindy Project show. Where Mindy walks in and have mesmerised moment until the bouncer asked her to get over it LOL. But no it was just a regular bar and very crammed. Maybe, because there are a lot of people around trying to dance and drink and smoke and something censored. But really it was difficult to move about.

So we got our first drink (tequila shot RM15) at the balcony bar. There were some place to seat at the balcony and chill out or take a break for a bit before you get back to your twerking. The balcony overlooks another bar “ciccio pasticcio” and other bar along the streets.

We headed back into the crowd of people dancing at the stage. It was cute to see people doing all kinda silly dance. The DJ was right at the stage corner, which is a shame because it takes a lot of space and limits people movements to dance. I knocked my arm a few times while dancing. And seriously the song selection was pretty lame at times.

Here is some tips about dancing with your girlfriends
Dance in a group (circular), if you do not want strangers barging in or unwanted drunk making a pass at you. I notice this technique is very safe as you have eyes (your friends including) to watch your back for perverts and of course CNN-ing which cutie is checking you out. Also it’s always nice to dance in a group of girls while we make silly faces and tease each other.

There is nothing much to say besides having the time of my life “cuci-ing mata” and dancing with my gals. I decided not to take any pictures because the dancing stage was packed with people and I don’t want to drop my phone and break it. But I do regret for not taking any while we took our shots.
It was 2.30am by the time we left. It was a great experience but it got me wondering if this is how club/clubbing looks/feels like? Or there are other better clubs around that I missed.

Life thoughts and Coffee updates

Being the coffee lover I am, I can’t resist a coffee temptations especially if offers good gourmet coffee for a good price.  I’m not saying just because I love coffee I will only drink all the fancy and branded coffees. I love trying any coffee really, even Mamak’s coffee also I don’t mind. As long as I’m feeling good and satisfied.

So what is my January favourite beverage? Any coffee from PRONTO.  If you have been following my blog, you may have notice I’ve visited Pronto quite often last month. Even though I complained about their cup size, I suddenly find myself not bothered by it. Honestly I’ve been too willing to get a good cuppa coffee from them anytime. It’s because of the friendly and helpful barista.
Seriously people, there is a reason why people who work with customers’ needs to learn how  to be polite and friendly. Because believe it or not, it’s a very big turn off for customers to want to buy something for you when you keep giving them the cold shoulder all the time. This goes for the lady at the GJS (Bangsar South), gosh lady learn how to smile and be patient. Because of you, a lot of times people tend to not want to get anything whenever you are at the counter!!!

Collecting coffee go-cups and splash sticks
I know, most of my likings are mostly or somewhat closely related to coffee. Hence my blog name.
So when I say go-cups, I’m actually referring to paper cups. Not the personal stainless steel go cups. Ok, I know this is going to sound weird beyond anything. But I honestly adore cute coffee go-cups. Even if it’s not fancy looking, I’ll still keep it.
It’s like this. If I drank a coffee and I enjoyed every sip of it. I will keep the paper go cup. It’s like some sort of a souvenir to remind myself of the good times. Is that weird? I even collect the splash sticks. You know those plastic coffee stirrers that is plugged into the hole of a go cup lids. Those are so cute, you can recycle them into a bookmark J

Also am I the only one always staring at coffee mugs at a big grocery stores? Like actually stand there and admire the coffee cups designs and shapes.
Um no? Just me? Ok ok ………MOVING ON !!

Death in Paradise

If you don’t know what show this is, you sir, are LAME! (Talking to you my Maine snowman). Like seriously, I adore this show so much. I love a good detective show anytime especially if it has Sherlock Holmes theme to it. I actually discovered this show by accident. The thing is, I’ve always prefer watching British show rather than American, and since the latter is more widely advertised, I have to google for British shows. So one day I was just browsing through the internet, and walla !!!!

If you like Ben Miller, then you will enjoy this show. I loved it from the first episode itself. Season 3 was already aired starting January, but I was late on catching up.  Didn’t bother to read any updates for this season, and decided to just go ahead and watch the first episode, last night.
And boy was I in for a shock!!!

******Spoiler ALERT******

Detective Inspector Richard Poole (Ben Miller) dies in the first episode of season 3! I was like NOOOOOOOOOOO it can’t be, no way!! I was half expecting him to jump up and say “ah hah, I knew it was you!! Murderer!” But he didn't, he stayed dead and a new Detective Humphrey Goodman (Kris Marshall) came to replace him. I was disappointed that Ben will not be in the show. Mostly because the show started with him, I mean he was the MAIN character.

But as I watched Kris, I thought he played the detective rather well. I mean Humphrey is everything Richard is not. He is a complete opposite to him. And I liked it. Very refreshing actually.
First time I've watched Kris on screen, he played a young horny English guy who travels to America to get chics (Love Actually). In that movie, I thought he was rather annoying and he does have the “ugly duckling” look. He also had the “forever-extra-characters-in-movies” stamped on his forehead (yes I know I sound harsh). But the older version of him in this show suits the eccentric DI just fine. I was impressed, I mean he still have that dorky look, but really it works for him. I actually find him amusing.

You know how it is, about main characters being replaced, it puts a damped on the show, and viewers such as myself sometimes accept this sudden changes and sometimes we don’t.

If you have watched Misfits (also a Brit show) the first and second season that is, I was so hooked. But in season 3 everything changed, all the 5 main characters got replaced, some didn't even turn up in the show. I was severely disappointed with the new cast. I didn't bother to continue after the second episode. I think that show will eventually fail. I hope DIP will stay on, because despite killing off DI Richard, the whole theme and plotting style has not, it still have that “umph” that I've always liked in the show.  For that sake, I really hope DIP will continue on for another 4 more seasons.

Seed Café @ Midvalley

I made plans to hang out at Midvalley with my friend. Knowing our hang out location for the night, I thought we should try something different to eat. So I had some free time and decided to browse the internet and decide on which eatery I’m yet to try.
I was craving for some Malaysia delicacy soupy meal, with reasonable pricing of course. After going through the Midvalley website (hahahah), I decided on Seed Café.
The first thing I notice about this place is that it’s WHITE and PLAIN. I mean, it look pretty standard, not very impressive on the mood or theme (or lack) of the restaurant.  One thing that bothered me about the tables setting was that, they put this ‘mahjong’ paper on top of the white cloth. Perhaps it is to avoid staining the white cloth, but really, it feels like rather “cheap” looking.
We were immediately seated and given menus. Pretty much mixture of western and Malaysian dishes. I decided on Seed Prawn Noodles while my friend ordered Hainanese Chicken.
Seed Prawn Noodles

Visual Observation: 6/10
Served in a big white bowl, looks yummy and served warm. Looks plentiful and soup does not look too thick or oily.
Taste Evaluation: 4/10
While it looked good, I’m going to have to disagree with the taste. I’ve had prawn noodles before in local stalls and other restaurants. It taste pretty much the same but rather than being spicy it was pretty sweet. Now, I don’t like to have sweet dishes unless I crave for it. This was not was the sweet craving moment. Plenty of small and big prawns, the soup was not spicy, so for those who wants more spiciness need to mix some chili given (separately). Kinda defeat the purpose of writing SPICY SOUP on the menu!!
I think a Chinese street stall is way better and richer in taste. Personally, I don’t think it has a notable taste that you can definitely say it belongs uniquely to Seed CafĂ©.
Hainanese Chicken

Visual Observation: 3/10
I honestly think the presentation can be improved, it does not have the “put together” feel, honestly to me it looked rather lame.  I’m itching to say the Chicken Rice Shop have better food display LOL
Taste Evaluation: 4/10
I’m writing this base on what my friend commented.
She said the rice was ok nothing special about it, but the chicken (which is the main thing) did not have much taste, pretty blunt. The food was warm. But she was not happy nor did she feel like it has any exceptional qualities.
Overall conclusion: Meh-should improve more!
Again I would like to emphasis, that I only review what my friend(s) and I ate. Since we only tried two dishes from this eatery that does not mean we claim the other food offered here are bad as well.

I honestly think it can be improved. I mean price is about RM12++ and above, but the food quality does not justify the pricing.

Pronto Grab and Go (Coffee) @ Bangsar South

I’m not entirely very sure when they opened a small cosy corner in Bangsar South. This place is located at Horizon Phase 2, Tower 8, Avenue 5. I liked this place, a very good place to have your morning coffee with your friends before heading for work. I think this place live up to its name: Grab and Go. It’s not a big place but big enough to for 8 people.  They draw their menu on a big chalkboard. Looks neat and for someone who are not sure what latte or cappuccino mix is about, it is shown in their menu diagram.

They don’t really have much choices when it comes to their coffees. The friendly girl at the counter told us they will eventually add more in time. So far they have the usual coffee mix both hot and cold. They even serve chocolate drinks and some pastries. What disappointed me about this place is that they serve standard size go cups (slightly smaller than medium). So for an addict like me, that is rather disappointing. Also their serving for macchiato was small cup (smaller than their standard cup). I was disappointed because I always enjoy a good macchiato anytime.
Latte

Visual Observation: 3/5
Coffee and milk looks creamy and smooth. I just wish their coffee art was better.
Taste Evaluation: 5/5
I love their smooth coffee, its not too strong, that you had to add sugar but not too light that it taste like flavored coffee. I think their latte was quite good, not amazing but quite good. I enjoyed every sip (which was not enough T-T).
Overall conclusion: Good
I liked their friendly and quick service. It’s always nice to have a good coffee and a friendly barista. I will try their drink again.

No government or service tax.

P/S: I am a regular at this place despite the small portion. I've tasted the Milk Chocolate and The Boss. Both were good. Yum!

Updated: I always thought the word 'Pronto" means fast. But i stand corrected by my Italian friend Fabio, He said Pronto means "Ready". He also said Italians answer their phone by saying "Pronto" rather than the standard "Hello".
Thank u !! :)

Fatboy’s The burger Bar and Mad About Coco @ Publika

Fatboy’s The burger Bar (not Halal)
My sister and our friend Suga, decided to hit something big in portion and heavy for lunch. And we did just that.
We decided to go for the burger bar around 2.30pm. I know, it’s a little pass our lunch time. But can you blame the KL traffic. So what are the rumours I heard about this burger bar? Burgers are different and unique. Its big portion and last you for a whole week (people tend to exaggerate).
So when we walked in, the first thing I saw was the gangster looking, fat boy with beefy arms, logo. Funny that is how I pictured him when I first heard of this place. I like the theme and the graffiti used in this place. Not many people around, maybe just a handful of late lunch goers such as ourselves.
There is about a list of about 10 types of burgers. All with unique name and combination. I went for something I know I never tasted before. We got two set of burger dish and one side dish.
Visual Observation: 8/10
Now the thing about burgers, it’s basically stacking. So if you mess that up. Your burger looks unappealing. So if the stacking is neat, you get good points.
Mahalo

Clean stack of burger with tiny Fatboy’s The burger bar flag. The sesame buns looks soft, and delicious. A nice helping of homemade fries.
The Elvis
Clean and neatly stacked burger with their signature flag. Dark oat buns. Also big slices of crispy fried potato. Yummy.
Honestly, I don’t know why I was expecting fat Elvis face on the bun for some reason. Sorry Elvis lovers LOL
Taste Evaluation: 8/10
Mahalo
This is basically pork all the way. Pork patty and caramelized onions, grilled pineapple. The buns are soft and the pork is juicy. I liked it, not too dry or too much meat that you feel like you gonna dislocate your jaw when you start chewing.
My sister got this one, I know she is not a big fan of onions and very picky if it is not caramelized properly. So my sis, she didn't take a liking to the onions perhaps it’s a bit too much for her. She liked the pork patty very much though.

The Elvis

Need I saw more, Fat Elvis = Peanut butter + banana. Thanks to my friend Suga, who recommend I try this baby.
Basically pork patty, peanut butter and banana. First bite, I loved it. I like how the pork patty goes well with smooth creamy peanut butter. You know how, sometimes peanut butter, tend to have slight salty taste. This one didn't have that. Instead when u bit further in you get this sweet grilled banana coated with peanut butter and when you chew them all up. It taste AWESOME.
I love how they cut the bananas into medium thin slices. But my only comment is that, Try not to put too much banana in it. For me when you are eating it at one point the sweet banana tend to overpower the meat. Now, I know that peanut butter and banana are like cute gay couple but sometimes it gets a little too much to handle. (no offense to gays out there).
I have to admit maybe it’s because of the untimely lunch we had. Both my sis and i did not finishing the fries. It was good but it was too much for me to finish. I may have sweep the plate clean if I was super hungry. But I guess I really wasn't at that time.
Deep fried calamari (side dish)
This one is not very remarkable that I want to jump up and dance about. Basically taste just like any other deep fried calamari dish and it comes with a normal dipping sauce. Just a reminder don’t eat this when its gets cold. Because that last piece was cold and when I took a bite it slapped me in the lips. OUCH!!! (Means it got rubbery)
Overall conclusion: Impressed and filling
I wanted to try a good unique burger and that is what I got. We enjoyed it very much and had fun teasing our quivering taste buds? Yes? No …..Wrong choice of word? LOL. Just make sure u make some “room” before you eat here. The portion are big and it can be a bit too much if you have something earlier. Very filling indeed.
All the burgers (comes with fries) is RM16++ and above. Tax and service charges is applied.

Mad About Coco

Yes, we did it on the same day. LOL We are goblins when it comes to food.
So I was looking at some food blogs and came across this place. First thing I saw was chocolate next thing I did was call my sis and made plans to go there.
This place is located at the second floor, above the Kari Mee Jawa. Just look up and if you spot a big afro with big glasses, then you are in the right place. The moment you walk up the stairs you can smell the chocolate. Yes just like in the cartoon, we got pulled in by the chocolate aroma. The whole place had this vintage 60’s cafĂ© you see at old movies. I like their colour selection for the place. Very nice!.
It was almost 5pm when we got there, loads of youngsters like ourselves going HAHA and HEHEH over everything (quite noisy). So we found a nice little spot right behind the white curtain, I notice there was no menu. So I went to the counter and asked for some. The young lady at the counter said we should place our order and payment first at the counter. Not pay after.
So we decided on Innocent Devil Tiramisu Ball, Chocolate goodies in a pot, Traditional Chocolate Frappe and Chocolate Mojito.
Visual Observation
Innocent Devil Tiramisu Ball (RM20): 6+/10
The ball looks neat, cute and almost cuddly. White on the top dark on the bottom. But in my opinion, for RM20, I wish the ball was bigger and seriously those tiny biny slices of strawberry was really unacceptable. I’m sorry if I sound harsh, but really I was hoping for a nice portion for RM20. Say what you want “good things taste better in small portion” but I am a hardcore Malaysian gurl who likes my food to match the price they slap on it!
Chocolate goodies in a pot (RM18.50): 4/10
It was just a cute little pot with ice cream on the top. Not really notable. I mean at least I wasn't impressed.
Traditional Chocolate Frappe and Chocolate Mojito (RM15 each): 4/10
I mean besides the glass shape, I don’t know what else is impressive, I mean looking at it visually that is.
Taste Evaluation
Innocent Devil Tiramisu Ball: 8/10

Ok by far this was my favourite. I think this made a grand impression for me. I think the chocolatier did a good job. The waitress kindly asked us if we would like to take a picture of the ball before she poured the semi-hot chocolate over it. It got me thinking just how far we have come, that taking pictures of our food has become such a normal thing LOL.
Anyway, when she poured the chocolate over the ball it’s almost nostalgic to watch the top white part break and fall in under the chocolate syrup.
I think the dark chocolate syrup goes absolutely well with the devilish chocolate moist cake hiding underneath. LOL. We were already digging into it. I also wanted to call the waitress back so that I could lick the remaining chocolate off the small cup she poured the chocolate syrup from. HAHAH is that normal?
We all agreed it was the best and we all also wished it was bigger. LOL Almost screamed MOAR!!!!
Chocolate goodies in a pot: 4+/10
This one was a disappointment for me. I was expecting something different. Well it was not very goodie-ish for me. I mean I personally thought the cake under the vanilla flavoured ice cream, was rather dry and it was also stuck to the baking paper and pot. Making it difficult to scrape the cake and ice cream out together. Also I wish we had taken orange ice cream instead since it might have helped us enhance the taste. Otherwise it was just ok. Not so delicious like I imagined it to be.
I wished they used dark chocolate (slightly bitter) over the cake and orange ice cream instead. The chocolate used here was sweet and it did not mix well with the ice cream.
Traditional Chocolate Frappe: 3/10

This was rather disappointing for me. I was expecting more chocolate in it. But it felt more like powdered coco and was kind of tasteless. Also probably because of eating way too much chocolate earlier. But really I was expecting dark almost bitter sweet taste. Very icy was the first thing that came to my mind when I took a sip.
I wished I had ordered chocolate martini instead.
Chocolate Mojito: 3+/10
I tasted this from my sister. I don’t think I taste anything different from mine. But the first thing I did notice is that it did not taste as icy as the above drink. I going to go with my sister’s comment. It was not something so impressive or rather stimulating to taste. Rather bland and don’t have enough chocolate taste to it.
Overall conclusion: Ok la
Ok I know this is not fair, because I order very little. But this review is based on what I ordered and tasted. So I would say, they might need to improve their drinks section. And of course looking around at other people’s table I did notice the portions are quite small. No service or tax charges. I might go again but will try something else.

Oyster King and Espresso Lab @ One Utama review

Oyster King
My friend Wanie and I was walking around thinking about what we wanted to eat, since I’ve already had a heavy lunch, I thought we could do something light. I remember seeing this Oyster King in groupon promotion but as usual it’s always packed and I’m not very sure how I feel about oysters since I don’t think I’ve ever ate it before. I think la.
I have to apologise about the lack of pictures because I didn’t know I was going to do this blog.
So we ordered Oyster noodle soup, deep fried oysters and oyster wantons. And No drinks LOL
So guess what, the first thing I did notice was that the workers were foreigner, not saying I have a problem with that but please make sure the one at the counter taking your order knows English at least. We had to repeat our orders a few time.
It took less than 10 minutes before all the food came to our tiny little corner table.
Visual Observation: 5/10
Looks good, not sloppy. Not a impressive display. The plate was oyster shaped and comes with a small area that contains the sauce. Portions are small for both fried dishes, so if you are ordering for large group than better to ask if they serve a larger portion.
Taste Evaluation: 3/10
Wantan
Ok like I mention before, I don’t know if I ever tasted oysters before this, so I was shocked that it tasted so salty. Like really salty. So I dipped my wanton in the sauce that came with it and nearly choked because the sauce was also salty. I really wish the sauce was sweet so that it could balance it out the saltiness from the oyster. But other than that it tasted good. Not rubbery or anything. Just salty.
Wantan Noodle Soup
I like this one better. I think it really goes well. The gravy was thick, thin noodles and had half boiled egg. The gravy balanced out the salty taste. Personally I recommend dipping and soaking your wanton and deep fried oysters in the noddle soap gravy before eating it.
Deep fried oysters
This is pretty much the same with wanton, also salty. It has crunchy exterior and chewy interior. This dish also came with dipping sauce and it was ……..u guessed it salty :P. Taste good no complains.
Overall conclusion: Can be improved
I would say, if they change the sauce to something thicker and sweeter, it would be awesome.
The service was fast (maybe because there was only two customers)
The dish was served hot and clean. Not sloppy.
Best of all not government or service tax. So basically it’s a cheap and affordable, Recommend for those who want to taste something light and different.

Espresso Lab

We took a while to find this place because, mainly because I had this impression it was a store instead of an outside booth\stall. You know what I mean, like an actual store/cafe?. …..errk no …just me …ok never mind then.
So we finally found the booth\stall, and there was single guy at the counter. He smiled and ask us to take our time in selecting our drinks. Ok this guy was also a foreigner and I think he is Filipino, but he can speak English well. This is who you need at the counter.
Wanie and I decided to go with the usual. Iced Latte for her and Cappuccino for me.  Yums !!
Visual Observation: 6/10
Iced Latte
The normal glass used for iced coffee. Nothing impressive. (not sure what I was expecting actually). Clean and not messy.
Cappuccino
Oh dear god, I made a mistake by asking for on-the-go cup, because I had the impression we were going for a walk right after we got our drinks. So instead of the big mug, I got a black take away paper cup. The plus point is that the barista (is what you call a person who makes coffee) made this cute leafy coffee design for me. I loved it.
Taste Evaluation: 3/10
Iced Latte
It taste good, rich coffee taste. Strong, but not too strong. Since this is my friend’s drink. I’m going with her comments. Like all coffee drinks (well mostly of course) they don’t come with sugar in it. So I recommend to take a sip, determine how bitter or strong your coffee is before you make a run for sugar syrups or packets.
Cappuccino
Strong coffee, but not too bitter. I usually like my cappuccino without any sugar, unless the coffee itself is too strong/bitter own its own. I think the milk balance it nicely and it’s smooth and taste nice with my sugar cinnamon bun (bought from lavender bakery).
Overall conclusion: It’s not bad
We would say that we are impressed with the taste rather than its visual observation. I mean, visual is nothing if it don’t taste good. (Works only on food not on ladies).
I wish the barista would have recommended more drinks for us to try. Like if he could have told us to try out any signature drinks that is Espresso lab’s speciality would have been great. Best of all not government or service tax.

We will be back next time to try other drinks.
